Join Jamestown CRC, Messiah CRC, and friends on a Biblical and historical tour where the Word was written. This tour is open to all. We will travel to sites throughout Greece, starting in the north (Philippi, Thessaloniki, Berea), making our way south (Athens and Corinth), and concluding with a 4-day cruise around Greek islands with a stop at Ephesus, in modern-day Turkey. Our tour traces Paul’s journey and promises to deepen your faith and enrich your understanding of early Christian history.
We’ll explore the great cities of Classical and Hellenistic Greece, including sites that saw the birth of the Christian church and retain a rich Christian tradition even today. There is nothing like exploring the Scriptures in their original settings, and by walking in the footsteps of Paul and Christian leaders throughout the centuries, you will gain a fresh perspective on the Bible and a renewed appreciation for the mission, message, and ministry of the Church. Of course, Greece is also a land of enchanting natural beauty, and no tour would be complete without a cruise of the wonderful Greek islands to bask in the sun and the deep blue Aegean!
Yanni Iliadis and I (Julia VanderMolen) will be your guides from Footstep Ministries. I am a member of Jamestown CRC in Hudsonville, MI, and I look forward to introducing my congregation and others in Hudsonville and beyond to some of my favorite places as we explore God’s story, meeting characters from Paul to early Christian martyrs to new friends and brothers and sisters of our churches on our very tour. Yanni grew up in Greece, and is enthusiastic about welcoming you to his beloved homeland as only a native can. He has a deep passion for hospitality and how it can build friendships and ultimately unify the body of Christ.
Joining Jamestown is also Messiah CRC, where Julia’s brother Fig serves as Youth Director. Fig has traveled internationally with youth groups and on Biblical tours to Israel and is eager to explore more of Paul’s history and context in Greece with you, too. We hope that you will consider joining us for this lifetime experience. Space is limited, so make your reservations soon!
In Christ’s Service,
Julia Vandermolen
